Remembrance Day Ceremonies

Here a list of some Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Edmonton.


• City Hall, City Room, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with Loyal Edmonton Regiment 4PPCLI.

• Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 119th Avenue and 47 Street, 9:30 a.m.

• Calder Senior Centre, 12963 120th St., 9:45 a.m. inter-denominational memorial service followed by a parade at 10:30 a.m. from the Calder Community Hall, 12721 120th St., to the Cenotaph at the Senior Centre for a ceremony. A reception will follow.

• West Edmonton Mall Ice Palace, 88th Avenue and 170th Street, 10 a.m. to noon. Jasper Place Branch #255 of the Royal Canadian Legion holds its annual Remembrance Day Service. There will be a moment of silence at 11 a.m. in respect of those who have lost their lives serving their country.

• Alberta Aviation Museum, Alberta Aviation Museum, 11410 Kingsway, 10 a.m.

• Tri-Leisure Centre, 221 Jennifer Heil Way, Spruce Grove, be seated by 10:15 a.m.

• University of Alberta Butterdome, 89th Avenue and 112th Street, 10:30 a.m.

• Ainsworth Dyer Memorial Bridge in Rundle Park, 10:30 a.m. A group of family, friends, army and community members will place a wooden cross in the ground for every fallen Canadian soldier. Coffee will be served in the A.C.T. Centre after the ceremony.

• Millenium Place, 2000 Premier Way, Sherwood Park, be seated by 10:30 a.m.

• Norwood Legion, 11150 82nd St., 10:40 a.m.

• Beaumont Town Office, 5600 49th St., Beaumont, 10:45 a.m.

• Beverly Cenotaph, 40th Street and 118th Avenue, 11 a.m.

• St. Albert Cenotaph, St. Albert Place, 5 St. Anne St., St. Albert, 11 a.m.

• Seniors Assisted Transportation Society, 3 to 8 p.m. at On the Rocks, 11740 Jasper Ave. Tickets are $10 and include a free drink to toast the veterans. Call 780-732-1221.

• McDougall United Church, 10025 101st St., inter-denominational service at 6 p.m., to be followed at 7 p.m. by the Public Prayer Walk for Peace from City Hall to the Gandhi statue at the Stanley A. Milner Public Library, and from there to Canada Place and the War Memorial on Jasper Avenue.
