I am an avid reader and always have been.  In fact, when my parents went to the Parent Teacher meeting with my grade 5 teacher…he told them to get me a public library card, because I had already read everything in the school library.  Now, thanks to Blessing’s Christian Marketplace, I have been given a great opportunity to read and review some of my favourite things….BOOKS!  This might just be the best job ever! 

 

 

I was not familiar with Joel C. Rosenburg’s work before Blessings sent me a copy of his latest thriller, but I’m a fan now!  “Damascus Countdown” is an international thriller that touches on prophesies and is really timely in terms of what’s going on in the Middle East. It was a bit like Left Behind, the Damascus edition. 🙂

The story does take a little time to warm up to and it bounces around at the beginning with places and characters, but once it takes off it’s hard to put down.  It’s a long read and not an easy one.  If you’re looking for a nice easy beach read…this isn’t it.  Lol

The action starts with an assassination attempt, moves on to an Iran/Israel war before the ambulance arrives and by the time you get 100 pages in, 2 nuclear warheads are missing.  It’s intense, smart and well researched.  If you’re looking for a good challenge and a thinker this is the book for you.
