The New Face of Mental Well-Being

August 21 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

| Free

Why is this Important for you?
In the current state of global crisis, where we have a pandemic, a financial crisis, enlightened heights of racism and discrimination, job losses or insecurity among other day to day factors/triggers may prove to be more stressful for individuals (adults and kids), micro-enterprises,small and medium sized businesses.

Public actions (health, financial etc), such as social distancing, insecurity in job prospects, policies around funding related to schooling, healthcare, economic stability can make people feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety. Coping with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.

Why is Mental Health so important?
Mental health is essential to overall health and wellness; yet, it is something that is often taken for granted. When we have good mental health and wellness we can manage our emotions and behaviors. We are able to handle life’s stressors, build strong relationships, and lead productive and fulfilling lives. There are many things we can do to boost our mood, build resilience, and get more enjoyment out of life.

How you respond to stress can depend on your background, your social support from family or friends, your financial situation, your health and emotional background, the community you live in, and many other factors.

The upcoming series of discussion starting in August is titled The New Face of Mental Well-being.
We are engaging coaches, clinical specialists, psychologists, social entrepreneurs, authors, subject matter experts and mental health specialists to help understand this topic that would help inspire developing viable solutions to various challenges experienced in this field.

This 90 minute discussion will allow audiences to get to know our panel speakers personally and professionally. Panel speakers will share their challenges, failures and successes through real experiences, provide insights to lessons learned and have a proactive discussion on potential opportunities.

All proceeds will be donated to Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to help build the centre for Children and Adolescent Mental Health.
