Sing! Celebrate! Rejoice! An Evening with Eric Dozier and the Edmonton Gospel Choir
April 26, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
| $10Event Navigation
Eric Dozier, former director of the world famous Harlem Gospel Choir is visiting Edmonton for the first time. In just 72 hours, he’ll pull together a brand-new choir and lead them in their debut concert on Sunday April 26th (7pm) at Edmonton Unitarian.
The choir already has 50 singers registered, of all ages and backgrounds, all faiths and none, from novices to professionals (including Canadian Idol finalist Martin Kerr and U22 founder Rhea March). They hope to reach 80 members by the time rehearsals start
on April 23rd.
From his home-base in Nashville, Eric’s expertise as a performer and teacher of Gospel music takes him all over the world, giving workshops in Europe, Australia and Japan.
His purpose – ‘uniting the world, one song at a time’.
Dozier has shared the stage with the likes of Harry Belafonte, Angelique Kidjo, Raffi, and even Nelson Mandela. Local singers can still add themselves to that list by snagging one of the 30 remaining spots for the workshop (Apr 23-26), available on eventbrite.ca.
Tickets for the April 26 concert are only $15 (adv) at eventbrite.ca, or $20 at the door.
