Family Literacy Carnival
January 30 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm| Free
This year’s theme for the annual Family Literacy Carnival is Learning in the Great Outdoors. Spending time in nature provides many benefits, not just for bodies, but for minds too. This year, get outside and exercise both your mind and body together as a family. You can make outdoor time fun family learning time all while enjoying the wonders of Canada’s Great Outdoors! When you talk, read, play and engage in literacy activities with your children, you provide a solid foundation in language. You encourage early literacy that is essential to their success. Family Literacy Day is a national initiative that raises awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in literacy-related activities as a family. Experience fun, interactive literacy activities created to engage readers, pre-readers and their families in healthy learning. Over 700,000 adult Albertans struggle with literacy. Join us as we change those statistics! Guests will leave with great ideas on how to make literacy a fun part of a daily routine. Cost to attend is free, however, registration via Eventbrite is required. Join us on Zoom and explore the great outdoors through Story Time, Family Yoga, Rhymes, and Story Telling. There are two sessions to choose from , but you may choose to stay for both. Those who register will be entered to win a selection of children’s books. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/family-literacy-carnival-2022-tickets-222940219197
