There’s something special about the Olympics.

I can’t think of any other event where our focus changes so much.  I can easily go from not caring about, or understanding, an obscure sport like the luge, or even ski jumping…to sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation of seeing greatness.

It’s true, if you’re like me, we don’t really know who most of these Canadian athletes are, but over the course of just over two weeks, we will know them and their stories.  They will have found a way to make us proud.

I look forward to the Olympics every two years, simply to get caught up in the drama and excitement.

I’ve never been more excited to watch someone ski long distances, and then stop every now and then to shoot at a target.
