Tara Lopez has been with 105.9 Shine FM since it's "DAY 1" - literally!
She has been a morning show co-host, airborne traffic reporter,
news reporter, morning show producer, weekend radio announcer, radio advertising rep, and now... joins you every Mondays to Fridays as host of the "Midday Show" on 105.9 Shine FM from 10am-2pm.
Tara is a graduate of BCIT's Radio Broadcast Communications Management Program in Vancouver. She has graduated with Honours as well, in Television Broadcasting, from NAIT, here in Edmonton. Tara also holds her Certified Radio Advisor Diploma from the RMB, based in Ontario.
Travelling is a passion of Tara's. When she's not on-the-air, she's busy
planning her next "culture immersion". She has travelled to Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan, and The Philippines), Australia (Sydney, Brisbane, and The Gold Coast), Cuba (Havana and Cayo Santa Maria), Mexico (Mexico City and Mayan Riviera), The USA (New York, Hawaii, California, Oregon, and Nevada), and across Canada from Victoria to Quebec City. She plans on backpacking across Europe next.
Tara volunteers locally in her spare time, having previously shared moments with charities such as The Hope Mission, World Vision, Kids Kottage, and The Salvation Army. She is also a supporter of the international charity, Compassion Canada.
Her favorite sports include: Beach & Indoor Volleyball, Badminton, Swimming, and Golf in the summer; Snowboarding and Skiing in the winter.
Tara attends Catholic Church as a part of her family tradition & heritage, and has also explored other Christian services, including a Pentecostal service that she attends regularly. She is a believer in ecumenical relationships, and Christian unity.
Tara belongs to a family of 7 siblings; and although she has lived-and-worked in multiple cities including Vancouver, Calgary, Prince George, and Manila (Phils), she now makes The City of Champions her home, residing in her lovely condo in sunshiny Millwoods.
