CMM – Christcity Marketplace Ministries

January 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

| Free

We invite you to join us at our NEXT CMM Meeting on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. We’ll be continuing with our theme, “Shaping a Business that Honours Christ” – seeking to encourage and develop men and women interested in starting and growing businesses that honour Christ in the ‘marketplaces’ of life. (The “Marketplace” is where ever we interact with others we meet along our path – in our businesses, our workplaces, our homes, and in our communities!)

Our topic: “Organizing and Reducing Business Risks”

“No business, organization or individual wants to take on unnecessary risk. Risks that actually materialize have the potential to jeopardize the longterm viability of a venture, derail mission accomplishment, and can side-line the best of intentions. The reality is that potential risks are all around us, and new dangers continue to emerge. How much risk is too much risk? What proactive planning can we undertake? Can we find that elusive balance between minimizing the potential impact of risk, against the possibility for reward?”
– Jim Ewing, Meeting Facilitator

We’ll explore this in more detail at our upcoming meeting! Please be sure to register in advance, as that makes for a more enjoyable experience for all attendees. (Thanks)

Plan to come early to meet with others, purchasing a beverage and snack from Christcity Cafe, if you would like to do so.

Date: TUESDAY, January 16, 2018
Time: 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
Location: Foyer at Christcity Church

Speaking on our program you’ll hear from …

Dale Moran, past Vice President and Co-Founder, Pizza 73

Pizza 73 was started by a group of Edmonton business partners in 1985. Building on the skills he honed over 10 years with Boston Pizza, Dale provided Operational Leadership to all aspects of the growing business, particularly partnership selection and management, marketing, new store construction and purchasing. In 2006 Pizza 73 was recognized as one of the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada. It was sold in 2007 to Pizza Pizza Ltd. having successfully developed more than 50 locations. Dale will reflect back on how Pizza 73 started, and how they looked to mitigate risk. He will also share how being a Christian formed his beliefs on an invaluable characteristic that the Bible calls Prudence.

Mark Reschke, Chartered Professional Accountant and Partner, Reschke Fritz LLP

With offices serving Whitecourt, Devon and the Edmonton/St. Albert areas, Mark and his team bring their core values of Honesty, Integrity, Accountability and Excellence into the work they do for for their valued clients. Mark will be sharing some important bookkeeping basics and tips for those starting a business and highlight some additional items of significance for all business owners.

We look forward to meeting you and trust that you’ll find encouragement and a greater sense of purpose in the Marketplace!
