Heads Up! Concussion Awareness & Prevention

Friday, June 1st from 11AM - 2PM

Event Description

Concussions have taken a centre stage in sports over the past year, concerns about the short-term and long-term outcomes of concussions have emerged leading to changes in the way sports are played as well as the way we use protective equipment in the workplace. We are a group of organizations that want to promote helmet use and educate the community about what to do if you or someone you know suffers from concussion symptoms. We are taking to the streets of downtown Edmonton on Friday June 1, 2012 to show the importance of helmet use, learn how the people of Edmonton feel about concussion/helmet use and what we can do as a community to make sure citizens are doing what they can for themselves and their children to prevent the type of Brain Injury we call concussions.
