OK...OK....I am NOT Perfect!!
Well…I learned something new about myself this week. I learned that I am not perfect…no really it is true! Ha! I am in the 6th week of the program and I was really getting mad at the program because I felt that it was taking me away from social events. Have you actually sat down and thought about how many family and friend events you go to that revolve around food? How many times a month do you get invited out to for dinner, coffee, a party or desert? It is now BBQ season and the invites are pouring in for me. Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t want it any other way.
However, for the first 5 weeks, I really tried to avoid going out to restaurants and I was having a hard time accepting invites for dinner. It was easier when people knew I was on the U Weight Loss program because they would go the little extra mile to cook a chicken breast for me or leave the sauce off of something. This weekend though…I was faced with eating out on several occasions.
I tried to make the best choices from the menu or food options presented. I ordered a salad on Friday when I went out to celebrate a birthday. I learned I should ask more questions because it came with breaded chicken not grilled. It didn’t say on the menu and I just assumed it was grilled.
On Saturday we were working on my brother’s yard and pizza was on the menu that day because it was quick and easy. So I had a piece of pizza and salad.
On Sunday, we had a breakfast meeting which was by far the hardest to find something on plan.
Needless to say, when I weighed in on Monday, I was up one pound from last week. The old me, would have been really discouraged. The new me, is excited about the smarter decisions that I have been making and I will not beat myself up over the one pound. Instead, I am thankful for losing 2 inches and looking forward to starting a new week.
