Arts and Crafts Corner with Alexis

Posted by Jennifer Joy  |  POST A COMMENT

I'm always in awe of those who have the ability to make the most fantastic arts and crafts out of nothing! My aunt Alexis should wear a bedazzeld crown as she is queen of crafts! I'm so glad she has offered to share her favourites with us. Each week Alexis will have a new fun and cost effective craft for your family!

This week's delight....

FAUX GINGERBREAD HOUSES

This easy Christmas craft eliminates the frustration and cost of making gingerbread for houses. You use the 250 ml milk cartons for the shape of the house!

Materials:
Square of cardboard covered with foil as the base.
(You might want to make it large enough for decorations around you house such as fences etc. )

250 ml milk cartons.  Thoroughly washed with soap and water and dried completely.

Icing

Candies for decorating (gummies bears, smarties,m+m’s,mini marshmallows, jujubes,Christmas candies, teddy grahams etc.

Plastic knives for spreading the icing.

Instructions:

1) Staple shut your completely cleaned and dried milk carton.
2)Cover the bottom of the milk carton with icing and attach it to your foil covered base. The icing works as glue as it dries.
3)Cover the rest of the carton with icing and decorate with candies.

So much fun and really easy for all ages.  :)
