Rush of Fools
Wes Whillis and Kevin Huguley lived in Montgomery, Alabama when they formed Rush of Fools. They both had been a part of different bands that just broke up. They met through a friend of a friend. The two of them practiced over the summer of 2005, and their first show was in October in a really small town in Alabama. They didn't expect the band ever to become a full time thing. Kevin was planning on becoming a pastor and Wes a mechanic. They were soon introduced to 15 year old Jamie Sharpe who joined up as the drummer. Wes saw Jacob Chesnut lead worship at a local youth group service and asked him to fill in on bass.
They heard about a talent competition called Band With A Mission. Rush of Fools had only been playing for about 6 months when they entered, not thinking they'd get very far or even knowing what the prize would be. The goal in thier minds was to get some tips on being better worship leaders. They won. After the competition several managers from different labels made the guys offers. They signed with Midas Records. The final member of the band didn't join until after they started recording. A friend of Kevin's from college, JD Frazier, left the group he was in to play with them. In 2007 Rush of Fools released a self-titled debut album. They were an overnight sensation. Their first single "Undo" was the most played song of 2007 and the #1 Christian song for five consecutive weeks, on Adult Contemporary Christian radio.
Their latest album Wonder of the World, was released on September 16, 2008. They are currently working on a new album to be released in 2011.
