Tim Milner
Tim Milner is a worship leader, songwriter, consultant
From Calgary, Alberta. Originally from Nova Scotia, and having spent
several years pastoring in the USA, his ministry is devoted to raising
the quality of worship in the local church by equiping bands and
leaders to intentionally refine and re-think the focus and purpose of
worship.
Tim got his start leading worship in 1996 at Prairie Bible College, when he founded MNW with good friend Matt Brouwer.
In 2006 Tim's album, "Form and Essence" won the Maja Awards Male artist
of the year category and was nominated in multiple categories for both
the CGMA's and the Shai Awards. His new album is called Kiss the Son,
released August 2008. Produced by Mark Troyer in Three Hills, it has an
edgy modern rock sound, combined with Tim's passionate lyrics of
worship to our supreme Saviour.
Tim also recently penned a book on worship called "For the Renown of
His Name" and is aimed at encouraging church leaders to put Christ back
at the center of our worship gatherings.
Tim is concerned about the plague of watered down, "me" centered
(non)worship being perpetuated by many churches and Christian artists
today. Worship is rooted in surrender to the Lordship of Christ. Tim
cites the watered down approach to worship and discipleship, so
prevalent today, that candy-coats the cost of truly embracing the reign
of Christ. Let's shoot straight on this: Worship is not about the light
show and the great music (though there's nothing wrong with that),
However, transformation of the worshiper's character will be the result
when we really seek God. God is in the business of changing us. So,
simply put: no change in us means no worship has actually happened.
Tim's ministry is aimed at helping churches reclaim worship that is
scripture based, Spirit aware and God focused. He does this by running
worship workshops, consulting and coaching worship leaders.
